Induction Kits Slowing Me Down?

Car  Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v
Hello,

Recently fitted my KandN57i to my 1.6 16v clio, and although the note it adds at high revs is nice, I don't think it has improved performance. I want to get a cold air feed to it to help it, but its pretty tight under my bonnet, and cant see anywhere to feed it, does any1 have any ideas with pictures? Also is it true as I have read alot on here they slow you down, if so by how much? Are we talking alot, or a mere couple of bhp, like the filters claim 2 add?

Cheers
Tom

it will slow you down imo if you dont have an cold air getting to it, its just gonna suck the hot air in, same as mine, also like you i love the sound it makes tho

How much will it slow me down by?? Are we talking loads or just a little bit? Also where can i feed the air from under my 1.6 engine bay coz its a bit cramped, there is the location on the bottom left near the alternater, but its getting a feed from there up to the air filter.

you'll never see a good bhp increase from just the induction kit on its own and especially the kn57i as it's open i.e no heat sheild. the best area to notice is the trottle response and how smooth the engine is. Also the note they add under acceleration.

try and make a heat sheild round it to, thats what I plan to do......one day...lol

Heat shield and cold air from bumper is what I want to do. The best place is from under the alternater there is the perfect place there, its just so fidlly getting the pipe down there and back up, and is somewhere like Do It All the best place for a heat shield?

Also does anyone know how much a non-cold air fed induction kit slows you down?!

Cheers
Tom

Is aluminium sheet good for a heatshield? or could u get away with thinner, more shapeable stuff ok (thick foil)?
