Induction Kits

hey every1 im new to post but have been readin posts for months...

ive got a 1994 1.4rt automatic clio and im just wondering bout wot induction kit 2 get.

Depends on what you want the IK for. Most just make a noise. For a power gain better to replace the standard element with one from a manufacturer like ITG for example.

drill holes in your airbox....or buy the k 57i kit..which is easy to fit...and sounds great...

LMFAO !! Dont do this unless you want to ruin your engine !! The filter is there for a reason and drilling holes voids the purpose !! Dont get a K&N either as youll lose power from it !! The only thing that will make your car faster will be the K&N sticker you put on your car !! FFS stop reading max power and wake up !! either get a panel filter or a REAL IK like a Viper or BMC CDA that wont f**k up your engine !!

The 57i is a K&N induction kit as sponsored by http://www.barryboys.comwww.barryboys.com it doesnt work as it sucks in all that lovely warm air from inside the engine bay and lets crap particals into your engine increasing wear !!

I had a K&N 57i on my old Mk1 1.2 (which, because its also an "Energy" unit, uses the same airbox/throttle body as the 1.4). It was, quite frankly, crap. I thought it was good at the time, but mainly because of the noise. Between that and the big wheels, the car was definitely slower. I dont think the case will be any different for you as it was for me back in 1998!

There are very few mods to increase power (and even then, you may never notice it): one of the best being a de-cat pipe. Ive been through mods like cams, porting, Facet valves, Vernier pulleys, exhausts, induction etc on all my Clios apart from the Williams. None of them really give proper VFM like buying a fast car in the first place!

Im not suggesting that you dont mod the car, but dont do it expecting a power increase. Major mods like a new cam, headwork and so on are possible and have been done on the 1.4, but youve got to ask why when you can buy a rip-roaring, fat arched, sorted suspensioned, bonnet bulged 16V for about £1500.
