Induction options

I want an induction kit simply for the induction roar which i realy like, the problem is i'm limited to panel filters because i'm going to be insured with direct line soon who don't insure mods for under 21's. I need go with them though because they are so cheap compared to others.

Will panel filters give this induction roar or not, if so can you recomend any

Not sure on filters mate, But you must be able to find cheaper than direct line,

My best mate is a floor manager there and even with a deal through him ive allways found cheaper,

Have you tryed tesco compare no frills jobby? it saved me and the missus nearly 50%.

i'm only 18 though mate. I can use a years ncb off my scooter with them and 10% off because my mums with them, after that its circa £1400 on a 55 plate 1.2 16v full comp which is awsome compared to other quotes.

I was/am with directline. When i had my 1.2 i fitted an induction kit and kept the orig at hand if i ever needed it. Anyways you won't get the same roar from just a new panel, it will be a bit noisier if you uprate the caf as well but nothing in camparison to an open cone.

Im with direct line, Hopefully switching to Quinns Direct as they seem a bit more easy. And i hope cheaper.

Even with a Pannel Filter i think you will have to tell the insurance company (in theory).

However most probably would say they never knew it was there if anything came of it.

I have an ITG panel filter & it doesn't make any roar. Well nothing seems to roar these days since carb's were the norm.
You could do as above & take the intake pipe off & maybe drill some decent size holes in the lower part of the airbox I guess, that might make it a bit louder.

I'd rather just leave it standard then, i'm not into having void insurance or chavvy mods to my car, thanks for the responses tho

Why not just drop the cold air feed off?? will give you a nice roar & in the event of a right off you can cliam it must have popped of during the smash etc... only down side will be aloooot of heat soak from the engine bay

i modified my airbox this weekend, all i did was cut out the divide between the two chambers and put a panel filter in and it sounds good and goes a bit smoother to !!
