Induction questions!!

have just installed a sard induction cone off a 1.3 starlet gt turbo(200bhp) that was written off. sounds great and power feel's smoother with no noticable loss or gain. haven't got round to installing CAF yet due to weather so it's only running on hot engine air at the mo! Can't help but worry i'm choking the engine as the cone's neck is a smaller diameter than that of the original elbow!! anyone ease my worries without taking the p*ss?

Not sure about choking the engine but I bet that metal mesh over the filter gets pretty warm/hot

Personally I'd either return to standard or get a ph1 airbox and tidy pannel but it depends what you want it for... looks, sound, performance.

If that is the standard CAF to the right hand side of it which tuck's sideways behind the light then your new IK is going to get no new cold air to it apart from what's just entered the front grill. I don't think you will get any gains with that thing on. You may as well invest in a proper IK like a BMC or ITG enclosed carbon filter.

yeh thats the std air feed literally haven't had time to install a cold air feed yet. hoping to do it tomorrow but do i need to remove the front bumper? just gonna feed it down to the grill. just been out in it again and positive its lost no power even set up as it is!!

You just need to remove the arch lining mate, you can get at it that way!

well fitted the cold air feed and went for a long drive this morning. even with the CAF it didn't pull as well as standard so have put airbox back in and think i'll get a itg panel filter instead. anyone know cheapest place to buy one?

IMO that was inevitable really. Its a smaller induction kit, off a 1.3 as well, so your not going to gain much if anything. Just stick to IK's made for the car mate. :approve:
