Induction?

Thinking about getting an induction kit for my 197, but not sure which one to go for, what are the proven gains and draw backs, does an induction kit affect fuel consumption? or driveability of the car?? advice apreciated, would like to see a guenuine 200bhp+ whats needed and how much? thanks.

not sure about your 197 but my 172 the fuel consumption change was very marginal however you will find it dipping slightly it you open the taps just for the noise. I have recently reverted back to standard and it feels more refined (probably in my head though)

I dont think an induction kit will give you anything other than sound.

Was,nt sure about the benifits/drawbacks as i'm guessing its quite a fine tuned engine in the 197 esspesially with the vvti, that i know very little about

Its been discussed on Clio197.net but basically theres only 1 or 2 induction setups with proved gains currently. The Clio V6 is the cheapest, but the Maxi 2009 is the best and most expensive!

That's one of the few induction kits I've seen that actually looks like it would do something other than make more noise.

Apparently induction kits reduce power, apparently the standard airbox is very well made, only v6 and maxi airbox give gains over standard and I think you still need remap to see best gains?

How much is a remap on these? who are the mappers? are the ecu's under lisence?
