Do you have a track pad, or one of those little stick things in the middle of your keybard? are you sure you're not clicking it accidentally when you aree typing?

I have a friend who was doing this and couldn't understand what was going on!

Exactly what I was aiming at..... It is really easy to catch the track pads by accident which sends the cursor all over the place. Stick a sheet of paper over it and see if you still have the problem. :D

Aye. Or disable the tap-to-click feature. ;)

i dont have a track pad on the keyboard, ive just got the normal laptop touchpad which im not near when typing, im defo not clicking or touching anything by accident, it just does this at random times, mostly when typing on forums and msn, ill maybe try get some updated drivers for the mouse, not much else i can try

This sounds just like a fault that Dell laptops have, if pressure on the bit either side of the touchpad it goes all over the place. Dell Will replaced there faulty ones under warrenty as there is a new front part to resolve the problem.

Another thing to try is see if you can disable the touchpad in the BIOS which is usally a good thing to try too.
