initial 182 mpg

Forgot to mention in my other post..

So far Ive done 90 odd miles at granny pace with the odd burst up to 4K rpm and going by what the computer says the average MPG is 27, after reading all the comments on here I was expecting well into the 30s, is this normal on initial run in?

The engine also felt a bit restricted until about 50 miles but then felt fine afterwards or maybe Im just suffering from new-owner paranoia!

I was shocked like yourself at the initial Mpg but once id run the engine in and everything settles down i am now getting about 35 Mpg.

Dont worry it gets better !

Thats good to hear, with the price of Optimax at the moment my heart sank when I saw the figures, it was sitting at 22 for a wee bit!

Have a look at this, discussed the other day. I thought mine was terrible at first but it seens to have settled. Ave mpg still showing just over 30 though.

Also, I put ordinary unleaded in the other day as the local garage was out of super. I dont know what the measurable effect on performance is but it feels exactly the same from the driving seat. There are a number of people on here running 182s on 95.

Not sure wether to use it or not, it is significantly cheaper and I do a lot of miles and the ECU adjusts for the octane rating so wont do any damage as far as I am aware.

S2 PTH, I am from Swansea mate, I work in Cardiff tho in Llanishen Business Park, so if you see Racing Blue 182 around there its probably me.
