Injector seal went (now fixed) but car not back to normal!

  2004 1.5 DCi 80 Dyna
I was on the motorway doing around 75mph and the injector seal went, was coming off at the junction (150m away) and made it round the round-a-bout before parking up and getting a tow truck back to my garage.

The clio (1.5 Dci 80) has had the seal fixed but it idles like a mother trucker (although a LOT better than when the seal had gone). They had an injector (3) fault and changed that but it has only made a slight bit of difference.

It can start and idle okay but as soon as you drive it, it will idle rocking the car. Also when you drive it, you can hear a tapping noise.

Any ideas? So far it's cost me £175 all in. He is going to look at the compression of each injector tomorrow, he has checked the wiring and said that is okay.

He also said it could be the ECU? If that's the case his words were 'major problem' I don't have the funds for a major problem, let alone a new car!!

Ideally I need to drive it up to Cumbria (140 miles away) in the next day or so but don't want to risk breaking down on the way!

I hooked my own computer up and it said Combustion Chamber N, it also said the refrigeration unit had a short circuit, but I just think that's my dodgy aircon.

anyone?

I did notice quite a few bubbles in the fuel line when the accelerator was pressed, but then again I rarely have a view of the fuel line when driving lol, so that could be normal?

A number of possible issues mate. The wiring may look ok but each multiplug to the injectors need uplugging, cleaning and seating correctly as I find these can be very temperamental.

Another of the injectors/seal (even though It may not be spraying diesel everywhere and spitting) could be faulty.

The air bubbles is usual tbh but if it's never been done before the strainer in the sender unit under the rear seats can get proper blocked and cause it to suck air from above.

Thanks Scrooge, I must say that before it went kaput on Saturday, it was running fine. They are checking all the injectors today. Really hope it's not going to cost the earth!

well the one they replaced was tested and apparently 'okay' so now I have a spare, it did make a slight bit of difference changing it though.

Car fixed.

Checked the compression, everything okay, so they cleaned all the injectors and it runs just as it first did before it broke down!

They didn't charge me for the work they did today (about 2 hours worth)!

So total cost of fixing the blown injector seal and putting new seal in £175.

The cheeky monkey said 'bad news, it's going to cost you £600 cash today to get it sorted' My heart sank lol, funny man!

Thanks for answering anyway :)
