Inlet matchin on a 172 cup?

  clio 172 cup
is it worth having inlet matching done on a 172cup as iv read that the inlets r pretty good on the cups

  H&R + Pole Position'd Cup
The later 172 and 172cup models tend to come with 'RS' Manifolds

  RS2'ed 172 Cup
Mine had the RS Manifold, I got mine Matched and it seems to have made a difference, I am yet to have it RR'ed to see if there is any increase on BHP.

  Focus RS Mk1
even the RS ones could do with some work...i think they all could be better in answer to your question.

  172 Cup
Sorry to sound dim but how could you tell the difference in a non-rs to a rs inlet manifold.

I had my inlet off and it seemed ok to be fair.

mine (Dec' 02) doesn't have an RS inlet either (does anyone know if there was a period of production during which they were fitted, or is it a random parts bin job?)

(^) to check for them, you need to remove the fuel rail guard - there'll be a big 'R S' cast in the lower inlet if you've got one; can't miss it but it's worth a quick search for a photo so you know what you're looking for. the RS inlets supposedly have slightly larger/cleaner ports

Either way they if its an rs one or not it could do with matching!!!!

It cost me £167 (in group buy) and on my car made a big difference (172 cup 53reg)

This will help to get the best out of all future stuff you deceide to do breathing wise.....filter, exhaust etc

DEF worth it JAMSPORT is where i got mine done they were very good.

Random parts bin job I think.

The thing is its pot luck as some were better than others. Mine made a huge difference but I had to get a remap to get the full potential out of them as they were making the car run a bit lean.
