Inlet matching 182 pointless?

Hello!

I have read that the 172 and 182 have differnet inlets where the 182 inlet is more open and freeflowing than the 172 inlet. So is there realy any point in matching a 182 inlet?

but i had my 172 done and you can feel the difference

Gains from porting the 182 manifold are minimal, Wouldn't bother myself only if I had a non RS one, do a search there is loads of info there.

they generally get better as they get newer, seen a few quite reasonable late 172 lower inlets that aren't quite as good as an RS stamped inlet but not far off. Also seen some quite poorly cast inlets

I have a late 2005 year 182

you get noticeable results on all of them if you ask me...RS or non-RS.
