Inner CV Boot G/B oil leak

Right I have quite a major problem. The P/S driveshaft is leaking gearbox oil and Im told that it isnt the boot it is the seal. Can this seal be replaced or is it a new shaft job? Which would be ridiculous seeing as they were changed 10k ago.. although the seal is supposidly ripped to shreds, must have been some wheel spinning:eek:

The car is a 1.6 8v rxe with k7m engine. I need this sorted asap as the free supply of gearbox oil isnt going to last long!!!!

on that side, the boot IS the seal. It can be replaced if you can get one, dont know if it's available on it's own or not, but I'd think it would be

As Danny says. You should be able to buy the inner boot on its own I'd have thought. Easy enough to change yourself too :)

Cheers guys, even though the boot isnt ripped it needs replacing? I dont want to argue with the mechanics when they are doing it for free (when he said it was a seal). He put a jubilee clip on it and that seemed to work for a couple of days. Thanks for the replies.

UPDATE: The mechanics dont believe me when I say there is no seal, how can I prove to them there isnt one and how do I change the CV boot?
