Just bought a clio sport interior for my dynamique, I know where all the bolts are located under the car but just need to know how to take out my standard seats without the airbags going off as i'm a little worried that they might and the same with installing the new front seats. Can anyone give me any advice on how to turn them off or something?

disconnect the battery for 20 minutes before hand to give you that added assurance

but i've not known one to go off yet, and the 1st time i seen it done was 3 years ago

Yeah they say 5 mins but to be sure go for longer, its simple job really, 4 bolts under each chair, unplug wire below seats, the airbags should go off, ive done this in my car and it was fine

you can request the code from renault for about 20quids in the worst case scenario.

it should be on a card with all your warranty information booklets

Ditto. I disconnect the battery and waited when i did my seats and when I did my steering wheel. It better to be patient than to have airbag or pretensioner go off!!

Trouble is that its not the standard stereo, its a after market sony one which I bought second hand and it didnt include the booklet with any codes, it didnt ask for the code when I installed it, so will it ask for it if I disconnect the battery?

I see seats and steering wheels taken out and put in at least 20 times a day at work.

Some people disconnect the batteries, some dont. Even so, in the last 3 years i've never seen one go off.

Finally going to install them today but need to know whether I use the seat belt plugs from the seats i have bought (from a wrote off clio) or do I take the ones off my old dynamique seats?

had any of the airbags gone off in the wrote off clio, if so I would change them over because the pre-tensioners may have been deployed too. You will know for sure if you plug the new seat in and the 'serv' light and airbag light show up on the dash.

I dont know because I bought them from a breakers yard and didnt think to ask, so how do you take the seat belts off the seats becaues i'll have to take off the ones from the new seats and the ones off my old seats?

Let me know how you wire your airbags up Rick as mine are still showing serv light

With this it might be useful to find the connection and give the electrical spray a quick whirl. Always works for me as its a bit of a Clio fault
