Insurance Assessors......Help Please LOL

id reject his assessment purely because he maintains that its a non standard sunroof. it would take 5 mins and a call to any dealership to find out that this isnt the case. hes clearly negligent.



get em for everything you can, all the time youve spent chasing it. you dont pay insurance money to be f**ked about in the event of an accident.

Wouldnt just get them to pay for your repairs, but get them to pay for the stress, inconvenience, humility of driving a mondeo, phone calls, etc.

Like someone said earlier, sounds like theyre just trying to get out of paying for it

lol i will be pished on the way down i reccon mate, got Kev n Rob going down too so i will jump in wi them! already be half cut by the time i get to the camp site i NEED to ring Alan to give him the camping directions. Its pretty easy going by the map the campsite supply!

gonna try and pick the car up tomorrow and limp it to the bodyshop of MY choice, speak to the guys there, and get in touch with some proper assessors, hopefully ask them if they know about roofs on clios etc, and pay one to come check the car for me. By the way, im proper loving the mondeo!! bought and paid for, £450, and its so comfy, eats motorway miles! Motoring with a difference.............tis true, there is more to life than cars!!

(my polishing hand is wonderin whats going on though lol)

got the car home, and gave it a wash today to make sure its easy to see the damage. its hard to capture on camera, you might be able to see the more obvious bits! I am gonna get the car on the jack and get all the wheels off, take some proper pics before i take it to another gargage and get my proper assessement.

ok looking at the pics, you have:

shattered top mounts
2 x knackered struts
possible knackered rack and/or track rod ends
a few bent wheels
possible knackered wishbones???

and f**k me, that roof is BAD

believe me Fred, thats the only bits of the roof i can capture with the camera......there are creases about 2inches out from 3 corners of the sunroof - cannot catch them on camera.

to drive it certainly feels like the top mounts are shattered lol, feels like i have no bushes at all lol.

well............it has been quoted at £3k to repair it, but i still need an assessor to realise that im not lying, the roof dimples are related! They can write it off for me, fed up of the hassle. Clio's are great, just dont lower them

I really fel for you and cant believe this is still dragging on and on months later good on you for fighting the fight I cant be bothered to read the last 3 pages who was the insurer as im sure we can all learn a lesson from this - runs to the garage to look out my standard springs to put back on the car ;-(

but i drive a standard car so should be ok.

they are an independent regulator and they deal with complaint. they make a decision and can overide the insurance companies decision.
