Insurance Cheaper Than Thought - Whoohoo!

Just been getting some quotes as my insurance runs out next month, and I was expection about £1000 - I live in worst postcode area, 3 points, and have 3 years NC, but I made a claim 3 years ago which will still show up. Got a quote from Elephant for £691.54, which I didn't think was too bad, I wasn't paying much less than that on my vtr. And that's only one of my first few quotes, I will still have a shop around.

I've tried all of them except Bell so far, I tried Tesco and Direct Line about 6 months or so ago and they are about a £1000 dearer!! Greenlight was a good quote but didn't beat Elephants

On virgin insurance it is just £1000 :approve:

Can't wait for my last payment next month, then get two months off and it will then only be £80 a month!! half of what i'm paying now

pissing about on confused.com - one comoany would insure me on a lambo diablo fully comp for 5k a year but wouldnt insure me on my 1.6 dynamique cos its lowered - how fucked up is that!!?

I didn't like confused.com, they got quotes for all the dear companies, but didn't get me quotes from Admiral, Diamond or anywhere like that, the cheapest quote they give me was for £2000!!

I thought I'd try that Sheilas Wheels too as that's for girls, but they wouldn't quote me due to 'the car and my age'!! I'm 23, surely that's an ok age to own a 2 litre, stupid company, just because I don't own a ka or something girlie they didn't even give me a chance to fill out any other details, as soon as I put in the car they said no!

sometimes i think these online things are useless anyways - much prefer talking to a human being however (if like me) anyones with Norwich Union its hard to get a person who speaks and understands ENGLISH!!!

They also refused my girl friend, 23 with a Punto HGT (1.8l). So no suprise the refused you as well :S

Prices seem pretty good, wish I was a girl sometimes, lol :clown:

Deb - add your mum etc to the policy, that brings it down. Also tell them you drive another car on a regular basis, that helps too.
I assume tou drive to work ? If you don't tell them that too & it reduces it.
Mines group 20 !! & its £800 f/c, with an RM7 postcoe too.

Although having said that most companies wanted more for a 172/cup than the coupe !

My mum makes it dearer!! I put my dad on it, he makes it cheaper, when I was with my boyfriend he made it cheaper for some reason too, even though he had no no claims and 3 accidents!!! :S But my mum, who has been driving for years and has no claims made it go up!

got quoted at least 700 standard from tesco admiral ect, but endsleigh quoted me 415 alloys,exhaust,tints aswel.

so prob just gonna stay with ensleigh for another year
will try to haggle it down to 300 or 350ish and with windscreen cover. was cheeky like that last year and it worked lol.

p.s 18 1yr NCB. come to think of it, tesco was dearer now with 1ncb than endsleigh was when i started driving, bloody insurance companies are all cnuts!
