Insurance Dilemma

  350z & 16v Maxi

I just renewed my insurance a few days ago.

I phoned to cancel my renewal which was fine, but phoned back up 30min later and took a policy out as I changed my mind. I received the proof of no claims through and also my new policy and the money was taken out my bank. Ive just had a bank statement through and they have refunded my bank account with the full amount.

So have they cancelled my new policy or what? Should I just play dumb and pretend I didnt notice it and be £500 the richer. I have my policy if the police ask for it? Or should I be honest and give them a phone to see whats happened as I may not be insured? They have the calls recorded which would show I did cancel the renewal but after that I phoned back and took a policy out. I did mention on the second call that I had phoned previously and cancel the renewal, so it is the insurance companys fault if I am not insured.

You say you have the policy number but if i were you i would ring up and make a general enquiry about the policy. Same something about changing heels or sumut to make sure the policy you have is still valid. If it is then play dumb and be rich!!!!

You could drive around on it and it would come in handy for one of those producers you get from time to time ,but if you were to have a bump then all the fibs would come out and youd be left without a car once the insurance company prooved they cancelled and gave you your money back.

Regards,ian

i thought that might be the case ian, however i did take a policy out and they did send me the policy and did take payment. They have not informed me that it has been canceled!!!

I wouldnt risk it ! Whats £500 when you could lose your car and/or kill someone and be left without legal protection. You could be sued for thousands ! TBH IMO its not worth the risk. Insurers are snakes and anyway they can find to not pay out they will ! And that seems like a prime reason !
