insurance for us older farts

any of you guys between 30 and 35 paying less than £530 for your fully comp insurance on a 172/cup/182?

cheapest ive found is AXA.

anyone beat that price??

according to what car the av. quote is just over £400.

dont say greenlight they where no good for me.

i have 10 years no claims and 0 points.

p.s. dont come moaning about £530 being cheap if you are still a young whipper snapper.i already know that most of you would sell you mum for that sort of quote

you must be able to get cheaper than that, without my mods i got quotes of 630 thats for a 24 yo with 4 years NCD. best thing to do is shop around, some sites online tescos have been good for some either that or companies specialising in hot hatches etc. im with privelidge at the moment, performance direct have given good quotes in the past too

Try Rac insurance,they quoted me cheaper than the cheapest i could find which was Norwich union,the insurer they quoted me on was with.....Norwich union !!!

When i change over to my 182 im going to see out the rest of the year with my present insurer then switch to Rac if they are still cheaper.

My quote is £389 including legal protection,36 with one claim in the last 3 years (Unknown 3rd party)

That quote works out for me only about a quid a month more than i am paying for my Vts...well impressed with that !

How much excess are you guys on? I need to sort new insurance this week before I pick up my 172. Best so far is Tesco £552. 29yo with 8 years ncb protected, 0 points, legal protection and £200 excess.

Maybe the £530 is the best you are going to get.We are all saying who is cheapest,but that can vary from one person to the next and depends on things like postcodes etc

I got a second car last year and needed a second policy from scratch and was being quoted silly money because i had no bonus to use being as it was a second policy.Anyway the night before i had to get cover for the next day i was about to go with the cheapest i could find and right at the end,just before 10 pm i tried one last one and was offered a "clincher" I asked what the hell that was and had it explained to me that at the end of the day,depepnding on how good a day it had been they can offer a "clincher" to basically secure one last sale right at the close.They came back to me there and then and undercut my previous best by about £120.Needless to say they clinched it.Thats either a best kept secret that insurance companies can do that or a mistake..either way i was chuffed to bits.When that policy is up for renewal i might just leave it till the end and suggest a "Clincher"

Was with Elephant but come renewal time they were no longer competative...a friend mention Direct line and I saved £100!...god I sound like one of those hard to believe adverts!...but its true!...and they made my whites so clean and fresh!

For my Williams including the chip, decat, exhaust, piper-x I pay just £471 F/c Protected NCB.

Am an old giffer too with full ncb and no previous.
