Insurance/Postcode bulls**t

  Golf Mk6 Oil Burner

This is what really gets on my nerves! Is this not some form of discrimination???

Im in band F !!!!!!!!

In 10 years of driving, I have never had bump or anything nicked. As a result I have 10 years no claims yet my insurance is £800+ for my clio.

The clio has cat1 alarm + extra immob + disklock + garaged every night in an alarmed + locked garage that is behind 2 security lights and a locked gate.

If i start sleeping in it will that help ????? ..... with a couple of pitbulls ??????

BTW - I had an astra gte 16v when i was 19 (8 years ago) and paid £600 fully comp in same address ...... what the f**l is going on !!!

Can any insurance guys on here shed any light on the situation

Maurice, I pay £1,100 for my Cup in Group B area. Im 22, full NCB but 6pts and quite a few mods - all declared.

Got a quotation to move to a refer area (below band F) and it would only cost an additional £140.

Id suggest changing insurance companies.

Im with Greenlight who can be found at http://www.greenlightinsurance.com/http://www.greenlightinsurance.com/

And are specialists in high performance cars.If you join Cliosport Club you can get a discount too.

not advisable but how about using a m8s postcode :)

i.e. u must have moved in there 4 a month or so and then not worried about updating ur details, oops

Ive been with greenlight 7 years out of 10 of driving (even the astra was with them in the good old days when you could get insured on anything). Could get near my £800 for the clio

Trust me this was the best price anywhere. Think Adrian Flux was £1200 to give you some comparision. £2000 with quite a few companies.

Where do you live? Must be a well dodgy area.
Exactly my point, I live in Bolton and its a very nice area where i am. Bolton has a population of approx 300,000 so its a huge place. If i drive from my house to Bolton football ground it takes me approx 20 mins and im still in Bolton all the way there to give you some idea.

so why do you get tarnished with all the old people who cant drive and muppets who write of 3 cars in a year.

^^ Im in the same boat. Live not far from you in Oldham - up in the hills though, nice area. Also band F insurance. Some companies even refused to quote for my postcode! Ive not had one accident or any points since i passed my driving test in 99. Im 24, the williams is group 17/18 and im paying 730 fully comp with Tesco. I was with Greenlight also but they put the premium up £500 this year becasue they didnt want to cover this postcode anymore. Lovely lol

I asked why the premiums had risen so much in my area and they couldnt even answer. Ive not even known a car to be stolen from anywhere near my house either.

Im lucky to even get insured on this car. With a lot of companies now they wouldnt even insure on the likes of a subaru. They told me certain postcodes have been black listed for higher group cars. What a joke!!!! 10 years no claims and what does it mean ?? not much at all.... and i see some dangerous drivin nearly every day and you can be sure they are paying next to nothin for their insurance.
