The thing is, I think they HAVE to quote ya. When ringing round for my car, I was looking at Pug106s aswell, and someone quoted £11,000 on a 1.1 (new shape).

Renewed yesterday from Direct Line: £880 including NC Protection, Fully Comp and kept on driveway. I am 26 with 4years NCD, no points, slightly cheaper than Tesco.

When I was hunting insurance some places still said they wouldnt insure me because I was too young. (Makes me feel good)

lol, only a few insurance companies offered me a quote, directline being the best at £2700.

And mine is just the 1.2 16v

As stephen MC said though, you only live once, i hope to have a cup on the drive next year!
