Insurance renewal

Ok,

Just got my renewal from Direct Line on my 2003 CUP...

25yrs old (26 in june)
6yrs NCB
3 points SP50
parked on driveway
just outside city (newcastle)
no accidents
licence since 17yrs old
girlfriend on policy (25yrs old)

£447.30p (but £1000 voluntry excess), includes legal cover.


Im confident this is a good quote, rang a few places nobody can beat it, but can anyone maybe who has recently had a good quote with similar circumstances recommend who I could try also?

Tesco are usually the same as direct line minus a tenner or so?


Cant understand how come direct line quoted me a load more than that and yet I have a clean licence and am 29. I live in a fairly low risk postcode too.

i tried tesco, same details etc they quoted £573

Cupcake - im not fussed with the excess, it only applies if i have an accident which is my fault and im a careful driver.. .. the reason i asked for that was to get the premium as low as possible.

£1171!!!! Bloody shocked, wasnt expecting quite that much to be perfectly honest. Mate of mine (same postcode, age etc) has a drink driving conviction in his first year, lost his license etc, now back on the road with a Lancia Delta Integrale (group 20 I think) and even he is paying less than that!
