If theres a total loss claim, theyre going to have to cover the extra cost of those options (be them manufacturer fitted or otherwise) in what they payout.
Why should insurance companies take a premium based on a car costing £12500, and expect to have to payout £13000 when its totalled? Theyd have wanted the extra premium in the first place wouldnt they? Wouldnt you if you ran an insurance company?
No contract can exist in law if one party to it lies to get the other to enter into it. Silence i.e. not declaring mods, amounts to misrepresentation in the eyes of business and contract law (which has been tested) when it comes to insurance. By not saying youve fitted something, even if they dont ask you about it, youve lied. Therefore...not insured.
QED
You tell them the value though when you get your premium. I told them how much my car costs with the options.

and you actually believe that will protect you from not telling them you got uprated suspension etc
