**Insurance with loadsa Mods **

  Meg on pistonheads £6995

just been on the blower to Reno about my next planned mods:

on top of my annual premium they ONLY wanted:

Existing 17s (value £800) expensive @ £65.00

Lowered springs ONLY £9.45

Induction Kit (quoted for +3 BHP) £35.00

Superchips (or similar ECU for +15 BHP) ONLY £46.20

**** £155 TOTAL OR RISK £11K LOSS WITH NO PAY-OUT ***

Ill prolly choose a specialist next year, but not bad cos Reno were £80.00 less than anyone else when I took it out!!

Conner have you though about getting a new Clio with free insuracne? Sure it will cost you about 3.5 to 4k but it will be a new car and youll get the NCB if you dont have another crash that yr.

Liverpool Victoria are good for mods though

Im with Liverpool Victoria. Insurance was £3.5k but I can modify the car as much as I want and they only require photos and receipts for the modifications. That is on a 03 plated clio with no ncbs.

You have got to be joking right? No offence mate, You must be insane to pay £3.5k to insure a Clio. How old are you and when did you put that 6 litre supercharged V6 turbonutter engine in??

I am 34 (almost definately older than you) but my modded Golf had a policy whereby I could do anything within reason to the car as long as I did not exceed 230bhp and it cost me £550 last time I insured it and there is literally none of the original car left bar the shell..

That guy on here who had a VX220 turbo was paying £5k but he was 20 and absolutely loaded by the looks of his dads car collection.

LOL! sorry, i couldnt help but laff at this... purely coz i bought my clio 1.2 last year with free insurance... crashed it in january, insurance was voided coz harnesses & alloys were not supplied or fitted by renault and now its only just getting picked up on monday to get repaired out of my own pocket!

so that answers ur question hehe ;)

If you can/want to go back to Renault insurance, they are okay on price I find Mark, although I am probably quite a bit older than you!! Hehe!

Ive been with them over 4 years now and they always give me the best price for my car as standard and I have also declared everything I have had done on the car and they have been fine, although did put the premium up obviously!!

Getting it all sorted now then fella?? :)

I was just thinking that after fixing your car you need insuracne if the cost of a new car with free insuracne is less than paying insurance then maybe it would be better.

Gald to see your getting your car back on the road though. Did you make an insuracne claim in the end? If there not paying foranything see if you can withdraw the claim hence have no recorded claim on your name so insuracne will be cheaper
