Unfortunately i can't drive just now but will be sitting ma test soon, and i'm hoping to get a decnt first car how much would insurance cost on a
. Citroen Saxo VTS or VTS
. Clio Williams (if i can get 1 )
. Clio 1.2 Dynamique - Getting it lowered (60mm) wheels and exhaust (full sytem)

Would probaly be on my Mum or Dad's insurance
Dunno how it all works really :S

Forget the Williams there group 17 for me its £1.2k (ok its modified) at 23 (32yrs NCB) on THFT. Even unmodified I'm looking at over £800.

Don't go on your parents insurance its stupid build up your own NCB. Do your pass plus then check about I got an R reg Escort 1.4 8V group4 which was still £1k with stupid excess and minimal milage allowance and third party. IMO its a waste paying over £1k for insurance.
The 1.2 Clios is the best idea you can pick 3 yr old ones for great value.

VTS is about the same as the WIlliams the VTR is only group 7 but its famous for claims so nsurance is expensive.

the clio will be about 1200 for you to insure Fully comp

Unless your properly rich then the clio is your only insurable option out of that lot I reckon, vtr at a push but i wouldnt hold your breath!

if your parents insure with direct line with you as a named driver they will let you gain your own ncb

true but i think that only applies if you take out another direct line policy and think they are harsh with mods (if they allow them at all)

i paid £1800 tpft my first year of driving on a 1.1 fiesta, i got anally attacked look around mate, dont go for the same one as your student posessions insurance!
