Insure 18 year female on 2004 172?! Help

  Clio F1 R27
Hi peeps, does anyone know how I could get an 18 years old female on a previsional on my insurance as Tesco's won't insure.

I have a 172 Sport 2004. How much extra is this likely to cost and does it like go down at a certain age?? Or when they have a full licence.

Cheers.

i put my g/f on my insurance when she passed her test, she was 22/23 years old at the time and it didnt cost me anything.

i think the fact she is a provisional holder will make matters harder.

I work for NFU used to work for Churchill, Tesco wont touch they are a fancy name for direct line RBS group. Stay away from tesco, privlage, churchill, direct as they are all the same.

Not that much, ive seen quotes where its cheaper with a prov liscense than full, as they are not going to be driving alone and less frequently also.

Try like of Norwich union direct although i hate them theyll insure anything! elephant admiral are same company either of them too. or even a broker like aa or kwik fit!

You should get it no prob

Going a bit OT here - I wouldn't trust an 18 year old with no experience on a 172 at all tbh.

Hey thanks for that, really helpful.

I'll have to shop around tho as someone else may not insure me with my 9 points and 3 week speeding ban!!! lol

When u have special needs like that, almost worth your while going to a broker theyll find you the best deal may be abit more expensive bt it avoids all teh hidden terms and conidtions ull get with a normal insurance policy

Ok cool. I'm not planning on getting anymore points, it's painful having to stick to the speed limits but I'd rather have that than no licence.

I heard that insurance companies were suppost to be relaxing fees for people with more points as there's now so many. Is that really true?

See tbh i wouldnt actually ever tell them, there are very few circumstances in which an insurance company would ask to see your liscense unless they thought there was a fraudulant claim.

But unless ur a dodgy character ha they will probably never see your liscense!!

but i certainly hadnt heard that, i think now sp30 and the like are pretty normal though and they dnt end to have that much effect

Yeah true...

me neither! i was lethal before i passed my test and only now after nearly 3 yrs of having a driving license would i feel ok driving a 2 litre car!

it's true that churchill etc won't insure unless you are over 21 as i have been getting quotes recently, try elephant :)
