Insurers that don't mind modifications

I know this has been done a few times before but this thread is more specific.

I was with Quinn-Direct and they only charge for 'non-performance-enhancing modifications' so you can basically do what you want as long as it doesn't increase the power.

I was wondering if anyone else was like this, as Quinn have decided that they don't insure my postcode any more :(

When I declare the modifications it comes to way over 3k on a 1.2 ffs.

Cheers all.

Greenlight won't insure me either, their minimum age is 21 :(

I just can't believe it'll cost me anywhere near 3k to insure a car that's not even worth that itself.

I'll give Flux another ring tomorrow.

I think it's high too because of my postcode, though the particular area I live in has no problems with crime or anything. It's just sod's law :(

aye flux insured me when i was 19,
try more than they gave me some good quotes for 5 mods 10% discont and 14 days till first payment needed and even no deposit just 12 payments at 72quid lol

performance direct?

I tried the whole Admiral group, all charge around £2500 and that's without mods :(

Postcode is a killer.

They certainly don't help! :(

It was fine with Quinn last year but as said they've stopped insuring my postcode! c***s!

Well I've literally just got off the phone from Adrian Flux and I've just payed £318 deposit and I have to make 9 payments of £121 starting from 3rd April.

All in all it comes to about £1300 TPFT but that's with several mods declared so at least it's all legit and it's in my own name.

Not sure what category but I'm in a quiet area so I don't think that goes against me like yours does.

My dirty licence does however.

HIC insurance dont mind mods

im 22 4 yrs ncb protected with alloys, induction kit, full system declared for £620. this was the best i could find at the time

HIC has an age limit too iirc, won't insure me as I'm 19.

Flux have quoted me £1600 on TPF+T with all mods declared, but a 5000 mile limit :(

Greenlight and they do like for like cover as well. If you buy something and want to add to the list of mods you have to pay £25 admin charge but you can add as many on at the same time as you like.

Have to be 21 tho fella :(

I think I have the problem sorted now thanks to a few people in here, so cheers lads!

Yep that's who I've gone back too (although Greenlight are not the insurers as mine is with Highway) and Highway do Track cover for £50 too :)

Do you mean they only charge for performance enhancing mods? Would be good because most peoples mods on 1.2s are show rather than go.

I'm with NFU mutual. Non RS with RS interior, xenons, colourcoding, RS grill, 16" 182 alloys. all declared

2 yrs NCB (im 27) - £270

PM me if you want office details and who to ask for :)

Lucky! I've sorted it now though, £1600 on TPF&T. Ridiculous I know, but the cheapest and best option!

The whole of Manchester is covered by groups E & F, it's a pretty poor system really considering someone who lives in Mosside (for an example) is in the same group as you. I'm in group E but still pay what I think is a high premium (for age/years had my licence/ NCB).
