Insurers that don't mind modifications

  t3 corolla 116bhp
Already paid it :(

you can cancel it within a certain time period i'm pretty sure. i had to cancel my N.irleand policy when movin to england and found NFU

plus my postcode is a C category and my mods are similarish to yours. call them boyo :)

The whole of Manchester is covered by groups E & F, it's a pretty poor system really considering someone who lives in Mosside (for an example) is in the same group as you. I'm in group E but still pay what I think is a high premium (for age/years had my licence/ NCB).
Yeah it is crap, Blackburn is something like B or C code and that's only 15 minutes away from me. Crap!

I know it's abit late now but what I did till I'd built a few no-claims bonus was use my Gran's address for my insurance to help lower the premium. If you know/trust anyone with an address with a better postcode group I'd advise doing that if you can.

I'd prepare to be abused if I were you

Quinn are good with non performance enchancing mods - they dont even care if you dont notify them. Although I personally do make it my business to anyway...

Brentacre were about the only company that would touch me on the C4 due to me being in Manchester (Prestwich) and it having engine mods.

They just so happened to be the one company that were also massively cheaper than anyone else. So win win really. I did a moneysupermarket comparison cheaper there was £1400 For the standard car. Brentacre charged me £730 on the C4. With 200hp limit all mods covered like for like. But no charge for anything as long as I don't go over 200hp. Cosmetic mods and suspension etc are no charge.

Insurance companies are taking the piss at the moment with the Manchester area. A few companies now wont insure Manchester, Oldham, Stockport, Salford, Liverpool or basically anywhere in that area.

Yet they are all fine covering London and Nottingham etc...both places have higher crime rates than Manchester in car related terms. It doesn't surprised me that more people are driving without insurance now. If the insurers don't want to insure the cars in those areas and those that do and whacing the premiums up something terrible. It is basically encouraging it.

They're all just a bunch of scam artists. w**kers!

FLOL...the irony.

Bit late for the OP but may be worth getting a quote from Brentacre, aesthetic mods don't affect the premium and they give you an agreed limit for performance mods (iirc up 10hp above standard before they charge extra.)

May be worth giving them a bell, even if your company charges a cancellation fee it may save you money in the long run.:)

Edit: lol too late, wozzaa beat me to it!
