Hi guys,
Having vowed never to seriously mod the Trophy I've seen that a lot of other people have had some minor stuff done and I feel like doing some non-invasive easily-reversible mods. Basically I think my plan is to get a replacement panel filter (rather than some big noisy induction kit), have the intake matched, fit a Janspeed system and then have it all remapped to see the optimum benefit from it all. Basically the key questions are:
- Which panel filter? I'm not looking for maximum gain due to having something that barely protects the engine, but I don't want to fit something that's just a waste of money. I'm thinking maybe something by ITG from looking at other people's feedback?
- What are people's experiences from having had their intakes matched/polished?
- Is the Janspeed a good choice for someone not wishing to spend the earth? It seems to be quite well reviewed on here.
- When it comes to the remap, is there a specific one that likes the type of mods I'm proposing, rather than going for a more expensive custom remap? (I am aware the custom remap will provide the maximum gain, but I'm trying not to break the bank and I don't want to be stuck to a specific fuel e.g. Optimax or something to avoid the car running badly, as it's not available nearby - I use it 75% of the time but I can't always get it).
Lastly what benefits am I likely to see from this lot realistically, have people who've done similar found it worthwhile, and is it realistic on a budget of say £600?
Any input would be greatly appreciated
