  SLK 350
Motherboard - Gigabyte P35 Chipset(DS4p is a good place to start)
CPU - C2D 6750
RAM - PC6400 is good enough for most purposes, but depends on your usage.

Might as well spend a bit more now on a DDR3 based system and have it a lil more future proof. The CPU's also overclock well.

And since you have decent parts everywhere else makes sense to go for the higher end stuff.

Cheers wozzaa didn't even release there was DDR3, falling behind a bit, knew i never should have bought a flat lol!

It depends greatly on your milage Aberclio, if you're frequently using video rendering/editing software then without a doubt Quad core is the way to go. However for gaming there is absolutely no benefit in going Quad core over dual core.

If price isn't an issue then Quad maybe the way to go, but if you're mainly gaming and are looking to save £50 then go for the E6750 on a P35 chipset.

Right now. People said that about dual cores last year and now nearly everyone has gone to a dual core due to them being faster.
