Interior light on a 172

Ok guys. Just what on earth is under the panel with the interior light on in a 2003 172???
Since I've had my car there is an electric buzzing sound coming from under that panel. It comes on when you turn the ignition on. It doesnt matter whether the engine is running or not. I can press the panel upwards quite hard and it almost stops the sound but you can still hear it buzzing. How do I get the panel off and what on earth could be causing the buzzing sound?

You tried taking the light out and checking the wires? Could possibly be a dodgy wire, also check the bulb is in right

Its more than likely the climate control fan, can be noisy, may just be blocked up with dust causing the noise

Yes correct the sensor for the climate control is in there (mine suffered the same thing) , do a search there is a video for replacing the fan inside.

Indeed the fan is making that buzzing noise... have to rectify that some day soon.

Does it matter if I just disconnect it? My air con dont work anyway as it ran out of gas.

Have disconnected it today. Will it cause any problems??
I'm assuming thats how the climate contol knows the inside temp?

shouldn't get any proobs as like you said it just detects the temp in the car.

It seems that heating don't work anymore though! Must be cos it can't tell what to do. Guess I will connect it back up in the winter
