Interior swap

Right, this may have been asked a thousand times and im sorry if thats the case but i could find the info i need.

Ive got a 172 cup and just bought a mk2 172 leather interior. Will the front seats simply plug into original wiring for the person presence detecter for airbags and pretensioners? Will it come up as a fault on my dash?

Just wondering from those whove upgraded their cup interiors, 4 months of that horrid interior is plenty for me.

couldnt say about the cup but when i upgraded from another non 172 to 172 interior it simply plugged in. I was told to do it with battery discconnected as airbags may go off which i took with a pinch of salt but still did it just incase

Yeah they should just plug in no problem. If not just use the original pre tensiors instead. Its pretty simple to do the swap.

Yeah im going to use original pretensioners, just thinking the plug to sense if anyones sat in the seat is the same, obviously the 172 has the wiring for the sideairbags in the same plug. Ill give it a go anyhow

Where did you manage to get one of those interiors from and how much did it cost?

got it from a breakers yard in wolverhampton from a 52 plate 172. its mint condition, cost 600 inc all door cards and gear gaiter. Well worth it in a cup IMO, the cup interior may be light but it aint nice!
