Interior temp gauge not working.

It hasn't ever worked in the 3 years i've had my car apart from once when it randomly flashed up something obscene of like 100degress when I first started the car one morning. What would I need to check to get this working?

Try a n/s wingmirror from a clio where the temp works. If that works fine it's your external temp sender.
