Interior 'whirring' noise

Hi,

My 2002 Ph2 172 with climate control, constantly makes a whirring noise (sounds like a fan) whenever the key is ignition.

The noise seems to come from near the roof mounted map reading lights.

Does anyone know what it is ?

Air con temp sensor or something, meant to do that.

It is rather noisy and distracting, can it be replaced ?
