Intermittent Misfire on my car? What should i check?

Basically up to 2.5k revs it can misfire and judder with no power then suddenly it will stop and the car goes as normal. Has been getting graduallty worse for last week and now does it alot more then before, although it doesnt always do it :S.

Mates reckon i should check my leads/plugs/dizzy cap/rotor arm?

Im pretty sure it is an ignition problem, just not sure how to check it etc?

Suggestions?

This is a valver btw!

Had exactly the same problem with mine this week just after i had it serviced. It was right up to 2.5k and then it would stop. It was one of the ht leads, if you wanna check it to be sure. remove the engine cover, get the car some where dark(in a garage with the lights off) and get someone to look at the leads when you floor it. You will more than likely see the lead/s arking onto the manifold/engineblock. Obv it could be something different but it sounds way to similar to my prolem to not be worth a look. let me know how you get on. crofty

I think I am going to try leads next - www.performanceleads.co.uk seem cheap!

Ordered mine at a discount rate and arrive next week.

Let me know how it goes, the garage trick looks good to see if any spark is spotted.

Thanks all.
