IPA

I've only recently started gather my detailing pieces and was chatting to a friend who works at Nissan, he mentioned about IPA and how it is damaging to clear coats. I had a look around and came across the below article:

Not something I have read into before and iv'e never had any problems with any % IPA and paintwork, scary :rasp:

Just thought I would share !

Just me that uses computer grade IPA then

I've been hesitant to use the stuff on paint for obvious reasons so iv'e not used it on a car yet, just on the spare bumper I've been practising on which was resprayed fairly thick so that might be why it has not touched it.

What dilution ratios do you use JD ?

Right to be hesitant fella. Better safe than sorry after all.

Paint, 50:50 as any more an I see it as a waste. Obviously needs to be diluted with RO or deionised water to prevent spotting.

On plastics (trim, arches, rubber etc) pre dressings I actually use it neat.
