iPad 2 wifi issue

Anyone else having a problem with their iPad 2 running iOS 6? I have a WiFi only model and it just drops it's connection randomly and frequently, having to reboot the iPad to get a connection again - then it drops.

Have tried resetting the network settings on the iPad and this did nothing and the new update to 6.0.1 didn't do anything either.

Anyone else having this problem? Pretty much renders my iPad a useless piece of s**t.

Think I posted something similar a while back .. got told it was to 'save power' it drops the WiFi when screen goes off or something like that.

VEEEEEEEEERY annoying. No option to turn that feature off either !?

I wish it would stop saving power when i'm on YouPorn.

It just randomly drops, when the screen is on regardless of what I'm doing. All other Apple devices work as well laptops and PCs.

There seems to be a lot of this happening on the Apple forums. Sigh.

Pay it for me Gaz <3 xoxox

I had this ages ago with my iPad, I disabled the n wireless on my router and use g and its been fine since, might be worth a try if you have an early n router?

Mine does the same, annoying cos it means emails don't come through until I open the cover

Tried changing the channel of your router? Might be interference from a neighbours router

So the fact 3 iPhones work fine, a laptop, a MBP and a PC all work fine on it - but the iPad doesn't after the update makes it a s**t router?

Completely plausible. DHCP servers in crap routers have a habit of doing whatever they want all the time, especially with 'new' devices. A tenner says that your problems go away if you start using a fixed IP address for the iPad. Or get a new router.

Put it another way;

All the problems, small or large, that I've ever had on any of my devices, or networks, with any ISP, ever, all mysteriously vanished for good after buying a Cisco router. Never since had a single network issue of any kind with any device, and never once restarted it. Your symptoms are classic signs of a shitty network.

Of course, there is a slim chance that the iPad is actually the implicit cause of the issue, but I very much doubt it.
