Iphone 3GS Fault

When I phone, or someone phones me I get awful interference from the speaker. The person on the other end can also hear it. Also when I'm searching the web on the phone you can hear the noise.

So my question is, I have phone insurance but if its an internal problem I.e the speaker would apple cover it to be fixed etc?

The phone hasn't received any water damager, or been mistreated including dropping.

Phone is over 12 months old, and I have no apple shop near by.

Any suggestions welcome.

I just took my broken 3GS to my local apple store. (not the same problem though) As it's over a year old they wanted £130 for a new handset.
