Cool, can't wait to order!

I threw my 3G in a lake on Saturday after the gps started f**king up again. I've been rolling a nokia 6110 since then, strange not having the iPhone to hand!

It's been playing up over the last few weeks, I was in a s**t mood as it got me lost in the middle of Cheshire for two hours. I took the sim out and just threw it into some boat clubs lake.

I've currently got a P&G phone, the 4g will be my first contract phone, would I get a better deal than people re-contracting? Or would it just be the same?

I'm living in the past with a samsung slide phone atm

You might get a bit closer to £200. It's £180 on those trade in sites.

If you're on simplicity you aren't upgrading really. Well, depends how you do it.

You can buy it on PAYG and then carry on with your simplicity.

Or you can buy it on contract and they'll just transfer your current number.

You're in a good position TBH.

A quick question (may have been debated previously)

With the capability on HD recording, why not the increase in storage? say at least 64gb?

With HD videos, music, apps and pictures 32gb is a must surely?

I'll be going for the smallest memory possible.

I don't commute, I use my phone for phone, texting, pictures when out and about, occasional video, no need for it for me.

8GB = $599 No contract

I thought solid state was all the same size, hence why USB keys never get any bigger?

Isn't it just more capacitors on the same chip?

just out of intrest, I pay £35 a month for my blackberry with three.. would it be possible to cut down to say £25 a month, e.g remove internet etc then just pay my contract off...

Yes but 64GB would cost alot so they would have to put two 32GB chips.

Same with the original Nanos 4GB then the 8GB was 2x4GB

I only bought my 3GS and started a new contract 3 weeks ago as didn't really know when the 5 was coming out!

exactly, its cost really, and as you say they haven't got the space to put 2 x 32gb, so it would need to be a 64 gb chip, which would probably double the price of the phone, maybe next year it will be cheap enough.

is the ipad 64gb 2 x 32gb then?

I didn't think about this, I was going to get 16GB but didn't think of HD recording, I wonder how efficient the HD recording will be, a 1GB mkv is 40mins, I don't see myself keeping hours of footage on my iPhone. I update at least weekly so it would get transferred to Mac so don't think even 16GB will be a problem tbh.

I only have a selection of music on it as I prefer to have 90% of my library on my classic.

I guess we have no way of telling how much the HD recording will suck up until someone tries it. It will be one of the first things I test, if it uses tonnes then will trade it for 32GB in first 7 days.

Stupid question... But on O2 contracts, can you change your tariff at a specific point? I'm debating going for a 24 month. That's a longtime, but can only really imagine a Gs style update tbh.

IIRC apple developed and made those covers/bands themselves they are unlikely to negatively affect the phones performance.

just checked and my existing 3G contract runs out in 3 weeks, beeeeaaautiful!
