Iphone Help.

Hi all , Has anyone put a 3g o2 sim from a different contract into an Iphone, I was told by O2 it wouldn't work as is has to be a special I phone sim...

When I upgraded on 02 to an iphone 3G from a Samsung U600 I used my old sim. I wasn't given a new one. I am on a special iphone tariff, maybe that's what they meant.
