is carbon fibre the lightest bonnet for mk2?

got a big ding in my bonnet from a large stone that got flicked up the other day but fancied a carbon bonnet (but want to get it painted on the outside and left carbon underneath - stealthy!) just wondering if they are the lightest bonnets i can get or does anyone do a aluminium or fibreglass one or something for the mk2's?

fibre glass will be lighter mate. In fact most of the CF ones have fibre glass skin to them.

The streamline pure carbon one is the lightest you can get, but v v expensive

I dont want VVVV expensive, it's going onto a clio not a lambo :P just want something lighter than the std bonnet, my bonnet is dented and has a billion stone chips in it so needs respraying anyway....

Just for reference my fibre glass/ carbon Fibre bonnet weighs 7kg.

My bonnet is a firbre glass shell and a carbon firbre skin. RRP is about £400 and the purly carbon firbre ones are over £1000

Fibreglass/carbon one is Ktec's on there site for £400. With polyester resin as far as I'm aware :boring:

Streamline is the one ~£1200.
