Is it illegal to load passengers in through the boot? LOL

Car  e92 + E46 M3 + Cup
Basically PH2 is going back to my semi-track car, both buckets will be back in this week but this time round i'm keeping the back seats etc as i like the sound deadning & private boot..

So question is since i have fixed buckets would it be illegal to let rear passengers in through the boot? fold half the split bench down, they jump in & slide over to behind the drivers seat then pop it back up & let them buckle in as normal, i relise it would only allow 2 people in the back.. i hardly ever use the back seats but it is handy some times so would be interesting to know!

Thanks,
James

the only problem is if you had an accident and the passengers in the back couldnt get out you would be in serious trouble.

Technically no............. but as said above if your in a smash how are people gonna get out......

LOL mate, what a question!

I have no idea but it might look VERY odd though if you ever get pulled over and the officer asks all passengers to get out and you've got people in the back.

I see... but if you were to roll a car you couldnt get people out as the renault runners are kak on a good day the right way round... so you reckon police would give me grief for it then?

Get tilted frames for the buckets maybe so people can squeeze in and out??

Would raise the seats giving me the standard reanult crap height :dapprove:...

If it cant be done i'll just have to keep them for show the...

i have my back seats in for show,
no way in or out,
no seatbelts as my harnesses go to the C pillar,

not sure if this is legal,
but its defs an MOT failure
(the no seatbelt issue)

i never give people lifts in the back tho,
because like people have said, if i have a serious smash, theyre not going to get out,

Couldnt you do away with the passenger seat then three people could get in and out the back no problem. Plus one front seat and sub frame must weigh more than the back seat so you'd save more weight.

Just completly sod off the passangers seat.
I hate having folks in the front if there's room in the back. Only person allowed in the front of mine is the misses cus she just sits there and doesnt speak when i'm driving. She gets the same returned when she's driving!

Good call guys but i would much rather have the 2 fronts, got sexy buckets in

I hardly ever use the back seats, hate people in the back but i'm only asking the question as no doubt one day i'll be out & about & need them :dapprove:

Wow, being your friend must be neat.

Seats are Bimarco's, very deep, makes you feel so much more in touch with the car, plus you no longer have to wedge yourself between the gearstick surround & door card when cornering lol plus they sit 45mm lower than standard :approve:.. handy since i'm 6"2 lol...

So no ones clear on the legal side of things, who could i ask to confirm?

Indeed. But you don't need friends.... everyone i know are...... associates

Seriously? at least its cheap getting the rounds in ;)

for the mot all you need is acess so the tester can test the rear belts be it between the seats how i test most 3door cars or lean over the back seats.but thats up to the tester if he wants todo that.
