To play mp3 the cd player has to support mp3 which I dont think the standard one does. You need an mp3 head unit.

Put them on CD as an audio track?

You only get like 15 a disc, but i dont think that is what you meant.

I dunno anything else.

You need a dedicated mp3 player, which the std isnt. Halford etc sell them for less than £100 but unless its a sony (Maybe Kenwood) that can take the autoleads connector that allows you to keep the HUD, it wont use the display. Mine kinda does but as you can get loads of folders and tracks the display doesnt keep up that well, but is fine with normal CDs and radio.

yer i can copy audio tracks onto cds ok and play them but only in WAV format. It doesnt appear to like to play cds written in MP3 format, i just wondered if there were any "tweaks" that could be made to fool it !

blink172 M8 when you say "kinda" keeps up can you explain that a little please? I guess its just i find it easier looking at the dash display rather than looking down to where the player is.... someone else actually told me i wouldnt be able to access the folders on cds if i fitted an MP3 multi changer if i keep the existing head unit which i guess is correct... so if i go to Halfords and get them to fit a new head unit ( Sony or perhaps Kenwood) will i be able to access my mp3s and can i also access the folders on the mp3s as well as keep the display? Am i thick or wot? lol

Well i find that some times if you switch from radio to cd, the display sticks with the radio station name. Otherwise it doesnt show folder names, just track numbers E.g. Track 95. If you have an MP3 player, you shouldnt need an MP3 changer, just seems a waste of time when you can get 10-12 albums on one CD. The players themselves wont be affected, you can access all the folders and all the tracks, but you will need to look at the display on the player. Any better?

Ah rite i see so i can access the folders ( and see them displayed on the player) but only the track numbers will display on the Dash display. I was told i would lose the ability to see the likes of Text ( radio1, Galaxy etc ) on my display if i changed the Head unit you see, and i dont really want to lose that, but if i can still get that i will be happy. Thanks a lot for your assistance blink .... its much appreciated M8
