Is online gaming (PSN/XBL) a No-No on 3G?

As per title really. Don't think the ping rate would be high enough but just want to double check with all you geeks.

I dont know but wouldnt have thought it would be no where near good enough, oh I remember the days of online gaming at 56k dial up much fun.

It would be a terrible experience, but i have seen upto 1.5MB/s over 3G so if there was a way to get the ping rate down in theory it should work

3G is quicker at my house than the standard broadband line. But I think the pings etc would be a problem.
