Thanks guys.

Im going to be bying myself a Mk2 1.4 16v, just trying to make sure which has which engine :)
Would you say I was better off going for a 16v over a 8v, or is there nbot much difference?

The 16v will be quicker. Ive got the 8v and still like it after a year. Just needs a little more power sometimes, but the insurance is cheaoer by 2 groups over the 16v.

Yeah i had the 1.4 S 8v. nippy little cars think the Si (16v) comes wi more toys aswell well as more horses tho.

Ive also got a 1.4 8v and its plenty nippy enough depends what your using it for and age must play a part for insurance purposes

I already know that my insurance will be £1400 for a 1.2 8v up to £1500 for a 1.4 16v, so i might as well pay the extra insurance wise.

Its just a pain trying to find a 2000 1.4 16v Si for around £4000. I found one for £5000, so im sure if I get myself a high milage model I can get it knocked down.

I looked at that pic, thought wow! its got the sport lights... then realised there was something hanging off the side... and then noticed the rather odd shape of the car.

So I must add, I wrote off my Clio 1.2 because of the same structurall damage.
