is there a way of blending paint by means of polish etc?

  LY 182
i recently bought a pattern wing from ebay (amazed at how well it fits by the way-with a lot of fiddling all the gaps are perfect)
and due to the fact i couldnt be without my car to have it painted on the car, i gave the wing and the paintcode to the paintshop next door to the garage a work at.
its a beautiful paintjob but needless to say its a slightly different colour.
had a bit of a play today polishing the surrounding areas and it has made it look less obvious but is there a trick of the trade as it were that will blend it a tad more
car is white btw
cheers

Im no expert but I would say white is the hardest colour to match.
i would say you are probably right
every panel on the car looks a very slightly different colour, and its never been in a bodyshop from new!
other than ofcourse my wing.

only way i know you can do it, its when you get it sprayed to get it blown in, thats how mine was done when i needed new panels after a bump. not helpful i know but i dont think it can be done with polish....could be wrong though

polishing the panel will not help the colour match unless your original paint work has oxidised, they only way to match it 100% is to blend the colour onto the door if its your wing that has been painted,if your car is solid white you would have been best to get the wing painted in a base coat so that if it had to be blend it would be very simple.

needs a good mopping with cutting compound like G3.

it should blend in alot better after a mop
thats the sort of thing i want to hear :approve:
now for the next question - anybody handy at that sort of thing fancy taking the task on anywhere near essex, for a few beer tokens?
