i have ordered one as mine has a huge rattle (as they do).... but then i seen this on ebay, and is completely different... ?

Top one looks like it fits a standard system. bottom one is for a stainless steel exhaust both for a 172

...so the likes of a magnex doesn't necessarily follow OEM specifications?

Top one is a standard fit affair although that second box looks in a strange place (which would be prime to hit the heat shield if not done carefully).

That second one is the centre section from a magnex catback, that follows the oem spec more than the other one as there should only be one silencer up front like the magnex not like the other one.
