Is this flat spot normal?

  DC2 TypeR / E36 328i
Hi guys

I had this problem, and since having the decat fitted I've noticed it more (due to the sound)

The car will get rather loud as if getting into the power at about 3k RPM, then dip slightly, then come back on at about 3.5k RPM :race:

Is that normal? It still accelerates as it should and I'm pretty sure all the sensors are good as I'm getting good MPG etc. Recently serviced too?

Any ideas?

Could it be do to with the Induction kit? Or maybe a faulty lambda?

I think it´s quite common that you get flat spots with removing the cat. A custom remap should sort this out.

Flat spots on 172s arent that common with decat.

If you had it before id suggest a remap to sort it and get the best out of your modifications.
