Is this just a normal Clio 182?

  RB 182
That looks like a 182 with the spoiler pack - see the splitter under the front bumper and the slightly larger rear spoiler

A 182 with the Cup suspension will have grey wheels

A full 182 Cup wont have xenons, and will have cloth interior

  S4 Avant
That is a 182 with the spoiler cup pack. and gash lights

List goes:

182 Cup
182
182 with cup packs

It only looks like it has one of the two cup packs, the spoilers pack.

The important one to get is the suspension pack.

Indeed they are just cosmetic but you have to question what sort of previous owner would have those kind of lights on a 182...boy racer springs to mind!!

Well tbf who buys a 182 to poodle around in? Can bet 90% of 182s get driven hard so I cant really see the issue here? I see what you mean but it seems a decent example and looks in good nick?

Hey guys what do you think to this 182? http://www.frankieandalfies.co.uk/new_bike_detail.php?bike_id=2002&type=used&cat_id=186

Is it just a normal standard 182?

I have heard numerous cup sayings so am a little confused what to look for?

Not a good car IMH- non cup pack suspension so only silver wheels & standard susp-
No mention of belts being done in the history & 61k on the clock-

I wouldnt go near it for that price- about 1k overpriced for what your getting-

Not so. Plenty buy performance cars and never really use them. Or use them with mechanical sympathy.

There is a major difference between enthusiast/ evo reader owned, and boyracer/ mcdonalds carpark meet owned.

There are far better examples out there mate. Speak to Steve (posted above) and see if he can help you, sells Secondhand Clio's and seems a top lad from contact ive had with him.

Amen. I drive mine very hard, good few track days a year, b road drives etc. But always warmed up, regular oil chnages, if anything needs replacing it's sorted straight away.

I was going to get a GTi6 (306) for £3k but I have decided to look at 182s instead so I have no idea what to look for, I am a 306 driver so not clued up on various Clio sports. My friend has just got a 182 and it impressed the hell out of me!

I’m in Leeds area and will have around £5/6k I reckon :) I don’t want any that have being modded or differ from factory spec as the insurance will kill me I feel.

Why 182's? Have you not looked at 172's? Standard v standard, I'd rather have a gti6. Had mine not needed major work, I'd still have my Rallye.

Just to clear it up...

You can get the following...

182 Cup - No xenon's, cloth interior.
182 - std spec leathers and xenon's.

Then there is 2 Cup Packs (optional extra's). 1 is the suspension pack (dark wheels and better suspension) and the other is the spoiler pack (splitter at the front and bigger spoiler on the back).

I wouldn't be fussed about the suspension pack as i'd stick coilovers straight on it and i don't like dark wheels!

As said previously, yes it's a hot hatch and it may be driven hard... but the sort of enthusiast who drives it hard will have maintained it and not abused it (burn outs!). The type who stick lexus lights on it and 12" Jap cannons will be the type who show off to the 13 year olds in mcdonalds not giving a sh*t what damage they do to the car as they'll get rid before they have to service / fix it hence why some cars have 20 owners!

Where are the Lexus lights and 12' jap cannons on this car? I feel you guys are jumping the gun here and putting out quite a huge bold generalisation claim. Maybe the previous owner liked darken lights who know? Quite naive I feel to automatically assume he is a mcdonalds burnout guy is it not? And it’s only had 2 owners, the second will be the garage so 1 full owner from new? Hardy 12 owners.

Anyway I’m only saying but you guys are jumping the gun here for what is only a light change are you not?

Edit' generalisation is that a right word?? :D Hahaha I cant think its the correct one!!

You mean stereotypical. But I wasn't reffering to the car you've posted... I was merely pointing out the different type of owners who would own hot hatches and drive them 'hard'.

It could be a minter mate.
