Is this netbook any good?

Hi all,

I have a PB desktop at home, but was thinking about getting this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/packard-bell-dot-s-uk-031-04328066-pdt.html for "out and about" and portability reasons, so will be really used as a second pc/laptop.

It will only be used for browsing internet and the odd photoshop job. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this lappy or can tell me whether it will be up to the job or not?

For browsing the net it will be absolutely fine. As for Photoshop the resolution is low and it's not exactly what you'd call powerful but I'm sure it would be do the job to a certain extent.

Also most netbooks have no drives on them to upload stuff to it and you can pic a good spec laptop up for about 100 more than u pay for a netbook.

What version of Photoshop? If CS5, it's no good. Screen's not big enough and with only 1GB of RAM running W7 as well you'd find it crashing constantly.

I think I have CS3

Whacking another GB of ram in these little netbooks really helps them, speeds them up quite a bit (albeit still slow!)

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 11z (11.6" screen, 2Gb RAM) from Play.com for £229... worth considering?
