i have some castrol gtx magnatec 5w-30 (fully synthetic i think)

will this be ok to use in the 172 exclusive?? or will it be bad??

lost me manual at mo so not sure thanks every1

You can use it but it is not the best choice/grade.

As mentioned above 5w-40 is a better grade.

oilman sells good stuff, but its not cheap

I use 5-40 halfrauds stuff ussualy

Mobil 1 0-40 is good

magnetec is pretty dog. Anyone who has owned a car with an oil temp gauge will tell you it runs pretty hot
30 is too thin at the temps that the little frenchies run
use a 5w40 or a 10w40

Have a look on www.opieoils.co.uk. Halfords only sell castrol really and there isnt one thats suitable to be honest, 5w 40w fully synthetic (not to be confused with semi synthetic) is best. Shell Helix, Silkolene, duckhams, mobil1 all do it. Most would reccommend silkolene which is sold via that site.

i can recommend the Motul 8100 from opie oils, if you dont wanna shell out for the really pricey stuff, 5W-40 is what you want, the 5W-30 stuff is generally for Ford Zetec engines
