I own a clio mk1 ph3 1.2 , I brought it with 64'000 on the clock and it's never missed a beat
good little motor but I have no decent service history
somebody I work with also owns a mk1 1.4 rt and is in need of a new clutch, he's rang around a few garages and has been given quotes ranging from £400-£800 !!!!
apparently because it's an engine out job , he's scraping it :/
This seems ridiculously expensive IMO but I'm debating what to do with my own now if this is right?
I have no record of a cam belt change and I've now done 8000 miles in it since buying it (72'000 in total)
I myself have not rang round for any cam belt change quotes but was considering having
Cam belt changed (incl water pump aux belt etc)
All brand new engine/transmission mounts
And New clutch
All done in one go ,
Considering if the quote for a new clutch is more than I paid for the car , with having a cambelt and mounts aswell it could be getting on for £1000+
Is this correct ? Or am I being lead on ....
I'm considering part exchanging the car before something gives and costs a packet and saves me from throwing money into a bottomless pit
