issues with laptop

im running vista home premium on my toshiba satellite pro,

Has 3 gig of ram but f**k me is it running slow,

Takes about 10 seconds to open a programme, say wmp

Im running AGV anti virus and it says there are no bugs at all but how do i speed it up?

fan is always on too, Fucker gets hot hot

What processor have you got? TBH Vista is memory and processor hungry.

do the usual disk clean up and defrag.

also do a registery check and make sure that not to many programs are opening on start up.

might have a tone of s**t running in the background!
